Introducing NT Scans

An NT (nuchal translucency) scan is a simple first-trimester ultrasound, usually done around 11–13 weeks, that measures a small fluid space at the back of your baby’s neck to help estimate the chances of certain chromosomal or genetic conditions, such as Down syndrome.

It is a screening test, not a diagnosis, and is often combined with a blood test or NIPT

to give a clearer picture of your baby’s risk.

Many parents find this early scan reassuring, as it also provides an early look at baby’s development and heartbeat while giving you more information and options for the rest of your pregnancy.
