3D Bonding Scan
See your baby’s face and movements in 3D/4D detail.

See your baby’s face, hands and little features, and keep the pictures forever.
A bonding scan is about the experience. It gives you a lovely, detailed look at your baby, usually with 3D or 4D images, so you and your family can feel closer before the birth. It’s a chance to relax, ask questions and enjoy a calm moment together.
Questions we hear every day
“What is a 3D or 4D scan?”
A 3D scan makes a still picture of your baby’s surface, such as their face, hands and feet. A 4D scan shows these as live moving images, so you can see a yawn, a smile or a wave.
“When is the best time?”
Usually between about 24 and 32 weeks, and many parents find 26 to 30 weeks gives the best images, because the baby has enough fat under the skin and still has room to move. Earlier or later can work, but the images may be less clear.
“Can you guarantee a clear picture?”
Sadly not. The result depends on the baby’s position, the amount of fluid around them, your body and the position of the placenta. A baby with their face against the placenta, or hands in front of the face, is hard to see. We’ll do our best, and may suggest moving about, a drink or a short break to encourage them to move. Please check whether a repeat visit is possible.
“Is it a medical scan?”
It’s mainly a keepsake. We’ll check the baby’s heartbeat and general well-being, but it isn’t a replacement for your hospital anomaly scan or your antenatal care.
“Can I bring family?”
Yes. Many families come together, and it can be a wonderful memory. Please check how many guests you can bring.
“What do I get to take home?”
Please check what’s included, such as photos, a video or a digital download.
“Is it safe?”
Yes. Ultrasound uses sound waves, not radiation. We keep the scan to a sensible length.
