Fertility Assist
Supportive fertility scans and blood tests.

Trying for a baby can feel lonely and uncertain. You don’t have to work it all out on your own.
Many women and couples spend months wondering whether something is wrong, or whether they just need more time. Fertility Assist is for anyone who’s trying to conceive and wants clear information and practical support, without having to jump straight into a big fertility programme. Our doctors will listen, look at what might be getting in the way, and help you plan your next steps at your own pace.
Questions we hear every day
“How long should we try before seeking help?”
As a general guide, if you’re under 35 and have been trying for a year, it’s worth getting advice. If you’re 35 or over, don’t wait that long, and six months is a sensible point. If your periods are irregular or absent, or you have a known condition such as PCOS or endometriosis, or a history of pelvic infection or surgery, it’s worth asking sooner.
“Is it me, or my partner?”
It’s often neither of you alone. Fertility problems are about equally likely to involve the woman, the man, both, or have no clear cause. That’s why it’s helpful to look at both partners.
“Am I ovulating?”
Regular periods often mean you are, but not always. Ovulation tests at home can be unreliable, particularly with PCOS. Blood tests and scans can show whether and when you ovulate.
“What can I do myself?”
Having sex every day or two around the middle of your cycle gives the best chance. Taking folic acid before conception is recommended, as is looking after your general health: not smoking, keeping alcohol low and staying active. We’ll talk through what’s relevant to you.
“Will we need IVF?”
Not necessarily. Many couples conceive after simple advice, treating a condition such as PCOS, or timing intercourse better. If you do need more help, we’ll explain your options clearly and help you choose.
